The antibody is specific against a calcium binding protein called calretinin. This antibody reacts specifically with calretinin in tissue originating from human. Calretinin is an intracellular calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily. Calretinin has been detected in mesotheliomas and some pulmonary adenocarcinomas.
