Specificity: The human cyclin D3 gene has been mapped to the 6p21 locus. Cyclin D3 binds and activates cdck4. Expression of cyclin D3 occurs late in G1 and unlike cyclins D1 and D2, it is not expressed in macrophages in response to CSF-1 stimulation. Cyclin D3 is regulated by growth factors in other cell types.
