This antibody reacts with a 48 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein, known as CD95 (Fas). The Fas antigen is expressed on the surface of various cell types, including activated T and B lymphocytes and T lymphoblastoid cell lines. CD95 mediates receptor-triggered apoptosis.
