CD25, or interleukin 2 (IL2) receptor alpha (IL2RA), and beta (IL2RB) chains, together with the common gamma chain (IL2RG), constitute the high-affinity IL2 receptor. CD25 is the alpha chain of the IL-2 receptor. It is a type I transmembrane protein present on activated T cells and activated B cells. Normally an integral-membrane protein, soluble CD25 has been isolated and determined to result from extracellular proteolysis.
