CD31 (also named platelet/endothelial cell adhesion molecule 1 – PECAM-1) is expressed on endothelial cells and circulating and tissue-phase hematopoietic cells. This antibody is a useful tool for the identification of vascular disorders (e.g. angiosarcoma) and determination of angiogenesis in some tumors. Positive results aid in the classification of benign and malignant human vascular disorders.
